Frequently Asked Questions

How do we access the recipes?

When you book, you'll receive a confirmation email.  This contains a link to create an account on Kids Love to Cook@Home. You'll sign in then immediately have access to your own Kids Love to Cook @ Home portal, where you'll be able to access all of the previous class recordings. Download your My Cooking Journey workbook where you can track your 8-14 year old's skill growth and completed recipes.

Is it essential to attend live classes ?

Live classes are entirely optional and will work if your 8-14 year learns via a positive relationship with a teacher.  The video to the class is uploaded within an hour of the class finishing. Cook along to the video if that is a better learning style for your 8-14 year old.

Are there gluten/dairy alternatives?

In many recipes we provide - Swappables - ingredients that can be substituted out instead of the original ingredients. There are lots of recipes that provide a method that is completely a substitute.

Cream Puffs are not really swappable - unless using lactose free milk for the Patisserie Cream.

In Kids Love to Cook @ Home, members have access to a greater range of recipes with Swappable options.

When are the video's available?

The video's are available within an hour of the live class finishing.

The recipes are available for immediate access on purchase.

Do I need to supervise my child?

Each recipe has red arrows at points in the recipe that may require assistance.

You know your child and what skills they have.

We've chosen baking as it has less safety risks than other forms of cooking.

April Bake School is designed so that parents can work/ etc, and only occasionally be asked for help - i.e. popping trays into the oven.

If your child has little or no experience, you will need to provide constant supervision as they learn.
